"Tổ cha mày" is from the South, especially from Mekong delta.
Tổ = Ancestor
Cha = Father
Mày = You
Tổ cha mày = Your father's ancestor
If the mother/grandmother says that to her kid/grandchild with a soft sweet voice (and slightly tap on kid/grandchild's head with their nuckle), then it is totally not an insult! It is just a lovely mild blame. (99.9% we use this phrase for this purpose)
We also say "Mồ tổ cha mày"
Mồ, mồ mả = Grave/tomb
